The Strathmore Farmers' Market was established in 1997 and is an Alberta Approved Farmers' Market. We are a non profit organization run by a volunteer board of directors who set out the rules regulations, and direction for the market. We are always looking for new board members, please CONTACT US if you are interested in attending a meeting.

Throughout the life of the market we have had homes in both the parking lot of Kinsmen Park and the Strathmore & District Ag Society Exhibition Grounds. We have seen hundreds of amazing vendors sell at our market, some of which have gone on to become widely successful businesses. If you would like to join us as a vendor, please visit our BECOME A VENDOR page.

Following the "make it, bake it, grow it" philosophy, approved farmers’ markets provide a direct contact for consumers to producers. Consumers can talk to the person that grew the carrots, raised the elk, baked the bread, produced the jam, or knit the sweater. To keep farmers’ markets unique from flea markets or trade shows, approved farmers’ markets must qualify for the 80% vendor rule. That means, the Alberta product must be grown, produced, handcrafted, processed, or baked by yourself or an immediate family member or staff. Of course, any farmers’ market experience would be lessened without fresh B.C. peaches or cherries - one reason that Alberta Approved Farmers’ Markets allow 20% of sales to come from out of province and/or resellers.

Please become a vendor or visit one of our markets to help us continue our proud market history!
